Rob Kardashian Seeking Treatment for Thinning Hair

On a recent episode of 'Keeping Up With the Kardashians,' Kim was seen teasing Rob about his thinning hair, after which he was quoted saying, "It really bugs me that Kim makes these comments like, you're balding." In fact, he was so bothered by her comments that he decided to explore hair restoration options.

While it may seem early for Rob to be seeing thinning at 25, it isn't uncommon for men his age to begin seeing early signs of thinning and hair loss. In fact, 20 percent of men in their 20s experience some form of hair loss, and the risk goes up to 30 percent for men in their 30s.

Rob reportedly decided on the HairMax LaserComb to help stimulate healthy hair growth and avoid further thinning and hair loss. The first at-home device for laser therapy the HairMax LaserComb offers patients a non-invasive, side-effect free treatment option, which is used for 20 minutes every other day. A couple of Low Level Laser Therapy devices have been cleared by the FDA for treating hair loss in men and women and there are numerous other products out on the market many of which are in pre-clinical trials. As with any treatment, there are limitations to what laser therapy can do. If hair follicles are dead and gone and there's no hair production, you aren't likely to see much improvement.

Rob would be wise to seek professional assistance from a hair restoration physician, a specialist in hair loss. Early detection and preventative treatments are some of the most effective tools we have to fight hair loss. In terms of laser therapy, I'm a bit surprised he would choose the comb-type lasers, which have 1/40th the power of the at-home, cordless and rechargeable LaserCap

Using a hand-held laser to treat hair loss is like trying to water your lawn with a watering can... it's the right technology but the wrong 'delivery system.'  The 100% hands-free LaserCap has 224 separate laser diodes and fits discreetly under a standard baseball hat, so you can do the 30-minute treatment anywhere, anytime.
