Hair Tips from a Mummy

Although this isn't celebrity-related, I couldn't help but point out this new study, which did a chemical analysis of the hair of 2,000-year old mummies.

While the archaeological findings here are fascinating, what's also interesting to point out is how important a healthy diet is for the hair:

"We can use hair to look at diet because, quite simply, we are what we eat," said the study's lead researcher Kelly Knudson, an associate professor of anthropology at the Center for Bioarchaeological Research at Arizona State University.

"By looking at how far the hair is from the scalp, we were able to look at what they were eating in particular weeks or months before they died," Knudson said.

Diet plays a crucial role in the health of the hair, which is why it's so important to make sure you're getting plenty of hair "super-foods" regularly. While medical treatments are the only way to address thinning hair, healthy foods can help by boosting the overall vitality of the hair follicle.
