THR: PSYCHOLOGY OF THE HOLLYWOOD BEARD

Hollywood scruff is often credited for the rise in beard transplants, but is there more to this trend than just looking good? There is an interesting article in The Hollywood Reporter that looks at the psychology behind the Hollywood beard, using David Letterman, John Hamm, Ben Affleck and a host of other Hollywood stars as subjects.

New Survey: Best Celebrity Facial Hair

Hugh Jackman might not have won the Best Actor statue at last week's Oscars, but he has a new title he can be proud of: sexiest celebrity with facial hair. Jackman was awarded the honor by a new survey conducted by the Crown Clinic in Manchester. Jackman bested fellow Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper for the top spot, Cooper came in second.

Rounding out the top five were David Beckham, George Clooney and Ben Affleck. Meanwhile, Brad Pitt was named the celebrity with the least sexy stubble.

Ben Affleck Aging Gracefully

Ben Affleck has recently been seen around Hollywood sporting a more natural look, including a scruffy beard, salt and pepper hair and a bald patch at the back of his head.

Despite the attention his aging off-screen appearance might be getting, his problems are typical of a 38-year old man.

I would recommend a regimen of an FDA-approved medication like Propecia and Rogaine to help combat his growing bald spot and thinning hair.

He might also want to consider Low Level Laser Therapy treatments, which would stimulate growth and help create thicker, fuller, healthier hair.
