Is Superman Balding?

We may have to wait another week to see if Superman defeats Batman in the new Dawn of Justice movie, but one battle we know he isn't winning, is the one with his receding hairline.

In photos from his current promotional tour, you can see that Henry Cavill, 32, is experiencing quite a bit of recession in the temporal region. Considering he is part of a widely successful film franchise, it is probably time for him to consider some proactive measures, to ensure his recession doesn't continue.

While he may seem young to be seeing hair loss, it isn't uncommon, in fact, 30% of men in the their 30s will experience some degree of hair loss, and that risk increases as you age.

Cavill could benefit from a hair regimen of FDA-approved Propecia, or Rogaine, which could help him avoid further recession. He would hardly be the first actor to take action against hair loss, more are investing in hair restoration than ever before. New technology and non-invasive procedures are selling points for many actors looking to enhance their looks discreetly with little downtown and recovery.

Is Bryan Cranston Recession-Proof?

Bryan Cranston may not be favored to win this year's Oscar, but he is winning the fight against hair loss. An almost 60-year old Cranston continues to keep his remarkably full hairline. You can see some recession in the temporal region, but it is minimal, and he doesn't appear to have thinning anywhere else.

As most people know, the hair loss risk increases with age. But, specifically, at his age, Cranston is defying a nearly 60-percent chance of hair loss! So how does he do it?

Good genes? Maybe.

But it's probably more likely that Cranston has taken a proactive approach in protecting his hairline, and probably uses some type of preventative treatment.

Will it last forever? Not without medical intervention. Hair loss today is a treatable condition but proactive treatment and early detection are key to achieving optimal results!

Recession Alert - Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio may be a favorite to take home an Oscar this year, but the star continues to see deepening recession in the temporal region.

DiCaprio, 41, has had signs of recession for years, but he is fortunate because his hair loss is isolated to this area. As you can see in photos, while hairline is maturing, typical of an adult hairline, he has yet to see any frontal balding. He is also fortunate to have an otherwise full head of hair.

Hair loss is not uncommon for men in their 40s - in fact, the percent risk of hair loss is proportional to your age: i.e., 20% in 20s, 30% in 30s, 40% in 40s and so forth. It's important to get tested early on to see if you're at risk for male pattern hair loss. Genetic tests like HairDX are available at your local hair restoration specialist.

Science has proven if you wait until the hair loss is visible to the naked eye, you're too late - you've already lost 50 percent. In DiCaprio's case, it would be wise to consult a hair restoration specialist now and consider starting on preventative treatments to ensure he slows down any further recession and keeps the hair that he has strong and healthy.

Hugh Jackman Says, "Being Bald is the Best!"

Hugh Jackman, 46, thinks everyone should shave their head, at least once. The actor came to this conclusion after his recent bald stint as part of his character transformation for the upcoming Peter Pan movie, in which he stars as Blackbeard.

Jackman opted to really shave his head after learning a bald cap would require 45 extra minutes in the makeup chair, and he's apparently very happy with the decision. "I recommend everyone to shave their head at least once in their life," the actor told Access Hollywood."For me, I'm a typical guy – lazy. So hair is just a hassle."

While it sounds like Jackman enjoyed going bald, as you can see from the above photo, taken this week, his hair has since grown back. And despite some temporal point recession, his hairline is looking pretty good for his age. Though he could benefit from some preventative treatments to slow down or stop the recession from deepening.

Recession Alert: Jason Segel

Jason Segel's final season of How I Met Your Mother starts next week, and though the show will no doubt keep us laughing, I can't help but notice the growing prominence of Segel's receding hairline.

As you can see in the photo, Segel, 33, is seeing recession in the temporal region. In other words, his hairline is maturing, typical of an adult hairline, but fortunately for the young actor, he has yet to see any frontal balding. He is also fortunate to have an otherwise full head of hair.

While 33 might seem early for hair loss, in reality, 30 percent of men in their 30s experience some degree of hair loss, with the risk jumping to 40 percent for men in their 40s. Were he to invest in regular Rogaine and Low Level Laser Therapy treatments now, he could prevent further recession while at the same time stimulating growth.

When it comes to hair loss, preventative care is key. Science has proven if you wait until the hair loss is visible to the naked eye, you're too late - you've already lost 50 percent.

Recession Alert: Vincent Kartheiser

Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser will have some extra time on his hands soon when his show ends, which he may want to use to seek counsel on his receding hairline.

As you can see in the photo, Vincent, 34, is seeing some deep recession in the temporal region. In other words, his hairline is maturing, typical of an adult hairline, but fortunately for the young actor, he has an otherwise full head of hair.

While 34 might seem early for hair loss, in reality, 30 percent of men in their 30s experience some degree of hair loss, with the risk jumping to 40 percent for men in their 40s. Were he to invest in regular Rogaine and Low Level Laser Therapy treatments now, he could prevent further recession while at the same time stimulating growth.

Recession Alert: Is Justin Timberlake Thinning?

With his upcoming album, "The 20/20 Experience," due out next week and his highly rated appearance last weekend on Saturday Night Live - it seems Justin Timberlake is on a roll.

But is his hair keeping up with him?

For the most part, Justin has great hair - and at the young age of 32, that's often the case. However, a closer look at his temporal regions suggests he may be experiencing the start of recession:

Over the next few years, Justin could see that temporal recession get bigger, as well as thinning on the crown. Now would be a good time for him to take a genetic test (HairDX) to see if he's at risk for androgenic alopecia. It would also be a good time to get started on preventative treatments - like Propecia, Rogaine and/or nutritional supplements.

Recession Alert: Chris Hemsworth

Australian actor Chris Hemsworth has quickly risen to fame thanks to prominent roles in action movies like Thor and The Avengers, but one fight his "golden hammer" isn't going to help him with is his receding hairline.

In photos of the young star, 29, you can see broad temporal recession, which isn't uncommon for a man his age. Thirty percent of men in their 30s experience hair loss and the number increases to 40 percent as men enter their 40s. While Hemsworth's hairline is maturing, he is fortunate to have an otherwise full head of hair.

Hemsworth might want to consider a proactive hair regimen of FDA-approved Propecia or Rogaine, which could help him avoid any further recession. He would hardly be the first actor to take action against hair loss, more celebrities are investing in hair restoration than ever before. James Bond's New Enemy: Receding Hairline

Daniel Craig's alter ego James Bond is known for battling the bad guys and always coming out on top, but from recent promo photos from his new movie, it appears there is one battle he seems to be losing - the receding hairline battle!

While there is no doubt saving the world and fighting the bad guys causes a good amount of stress, Craig's receding hairline is likely attributed to natural hair loss. Nearly half the men his age, 44, experience some degree of hair loss. From his photos, you can see he has early signs of recession in the temporal region, but all hope is not lost.

If he takes action now, he should be able to slow down or even stop further recession, while stimulating healthy hair growth. For more on Craig's receding hair line, check out the recent article in The Sun, where my colleague Dr. Asim Shahmalak gives his opinion on Craig's best course of treatment.

Personally, I think "Q" should whip out the latest hair transplant gadget, NeoGraft FUE, for no-scalpel/no-stitch hair transplant harvesting that leaves no tell-tale linear donor scar.  Like "Diamonds..." transplanted hairlines "Are Forever."

A proactive approach to hair loss using medications or laser will allow his non-transplanted follicles to "Die Another Day," hopefully sometime in the very distant future.  With the right approach, Daniel may never go completely "Thunderbald!"

Recession Alert: Ed Westwick

Fashionable Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick is sporting a less than desirable accessory these days - a receding hairline. At 24, he is already showing some considerable recession in the temporal region.
Considering his young age, and his reputation as a stylish guy, Westick should probably start thinking about preventative care. He'll likely need the aid of an FDA-approved medication like Rogaine or Propecia to stop or slow down further recession. Low level laser therapy may also be beneficial in stimulating healthy hair growth.

Recession Alert: Bradley Cooper

Good news for men everywhere, even with a receding hairline you can be named People magazine's sexiest man alive, just look at this year's winner Bradley Cooper.

In recent photos of the Hangover star, 36, you can see early signs of temporal recession, which isn't at all uncommon for a man his age. Thirty percent of men in their 30s experience hair loss and the number increases to 40 percent as men enter their 40s. From the photos, it appears that Cooper is Norwood Class II, which means that while his hairline is maturing, typical of an adult hairline, he has yet to see any frontal balding. He is also fortunate to have an otherwise full head of hair.

Considering his resume now includes the sexiest man alive title, Cooper might want to consider a proactive hair regimen of FDA-approved Propecia or Rogaine, which could help him avoid any further recession. He would hardly be the first actor to take action against hair loss, more celebrities are investing in hair restoration than ever before. New technology and non-invasive procedures are selling points for many actors looking to enhance their looks discreetly.

Jack Bauer's New Enemy: Hair Loss

Keifer Sutherland's alter ego Jack Bauer was known for battling the bad guys and always winning. But his battle with hair loss is one that he seems to be losing.

While there is no doubt saving the world causes a good amount of stress, Keifer's hair loss and thinning is more likely attributed to natural hair loss. In fact, nearly half the men his age (44) experience some degree of hair loss.

From his photos, you can see he has deep recession in the temporal region and thinning across the hairline, but all hope is not lost.

Were he to invest in regular Rogaine regimens and Low Level Laser Therapy treatments, he could stimulate those thinning follicles into growing healthier, thicker hair and prevent further recession.

Recession Alert - Daniel Craig

Daniel Craig, 42, was last seen on the big screen fighting the bad guys as James Bond, but in real life, he is fighting a more personal battle - hair loss.

As you can see from the photos, he is experiencing deep recession in the temporal region. This type of recession isn't uncommon for men Daniel's age. In fact, 40 percent of men in the 40s begin to experience hair loss.

Daniel may want to consider an FDA-approved proactive hair treatment like Rogaine or Propecia before he suits back up to play 007.

Recession Alert - Brian Austin Green

Brian Austin Green might be the envy of many men - but it's no thanks to his hair!

The actor, 37, is showing early signs of temporal recession, which isn't uncommon at his age. 30 percent of men in their 30s experience hair loss, and the odds only increase as you approach 40.

The pressure is on to look good when you have Megan Fox on your arm, so it might be time for Brian to visit a certified hair restoration specialist. I'd recommend an FDA-approved medication like Rogaine or Propecia to help stop further recession.

Recession Alert - Tom Felton

Harry Potter film star Tom Felton recently said he is looking forward to newfound freedom now that filming has wrapped on the series. Hopefully he will spend some of this free time seeking treatment for his receding hairline. At 23, he is already showing signs of temporal recession.

At this rate, it is going to take more than a magic wand to reverse what has already started! He'll likely need the aid of an FDA-approved medication like Rogaine or Propecia to stop further recession.

Recession Alert - Joaquin Phoenix

Now that I'm Still Here "star" Joaquin Phoenix has shaved the extra hair off of his face, perhaps it's time to start thinking of growing some up top. The 35-year old star of such hits as Gladiator and Walk the Line has been showing deep temporal recession lately.

Time to think about Propecia, Joaquin, unless you want to start playing older roles.

Deanna Favre - Hair Loss Victim Too?

Poor Deanna Favre ... She's having a tough time now, in the midst of allegations that her husband, Brett Favre, acted inappropriately with a Jets cheerleader. But after watching her Good Morning America interview today, I couldn't help but notice temporal recession for the 41-year old woman.

Few people realize it, but "thinning" is extremely common for women as they get older. Although it can affect a person - man or woman - at any time, the odds increase after the age of 40, and increase almost exponentially after menopause.

Deanna may want to consider using Rogaine for Women, as well as taking nutritional supplements like Viviscal which have demonstrated effectiveness at improving the quality and health of the hair.

Recession Alert - James Franco

The actor and writer James Franco has a new movie coming out - 127 Hours, about the heroic survival story of hiker Aron Ralston. But another project Franco has in the works is temporal recession - the 32-year old's hair line is showing signs of recession in recent photos like the one above.

Hair loss is not uncommon for men in their early 30s. It's estimated men have roughly a 30- to 35-percent chance of hair loss during this period. See this photo from my website.

Although the recession isn't too bad yet, Franco should consider using an FDA-approved medication like Propecia or Rogaine to prevent further recession. Otherwise, he could wind up looking like Jude Law in a few more years.
