How Hair Loss Ages the Face - George Costanza Edition

For the past few years, I've given a number of lectures at medical conferences where I've discussed how the hairline provides a natural frame for the face, and this is one of the main reasons why baldness or thinning gives the impression that people are older than they are.

For a good example of this, take a look at these two photos of the actor Jason Alexander:

Which of these photos do you think was taken in 2012? And which in 2004?

The top photo, of Jason with hair, is actually the older photo - he's about 53 in that one. But in spite of the fact that Jason is eight years younger in the bottom picture, he looks considerably older - and all because of his missing hair.

A full and healthy hairline is important for framing the face, giving it proportionality and a sense of vitality and vigor. This is particularly true for women. In order to prevent this type of hair loss, it's important to visit a qualified hair restoration specialist early on. Don't wait until hair loss becomes extensive before seeking treatment - the early you act, the better your chances are of restoring your lost hair and preventing further recession.

Jason Alexander Admits Wearing Hairpiece on Twitter

Jason Alexander, best known for his role as George Costanza on Seinfeld, recently confessed to wearing a hairpiece on Twitter and called going bald "dorky."

At one point in Jason's Twitter statement, he says: "I thought about grafts or implants but frankly didn't trust the results would be good enough." This is a common misperception among men, and it's a shame that so many people remain uninformed. Today's hair transplant procedures can restore living and growing hair to the scalp and are completely undetectable. The results are phenomenal. Patients must seek out a qualified hair restoration physician and should request a NeoGraft FUE to achieve the best results.
