Did Vanity Fair Photoshop Prince William's Bald Spot?

Prince William and his family are on the cover of the upcoming issue of Vanity Fair, but if you look close, you'll notice that Prince William's bald spot seems to have vanished, leaving many questioning whether or not the magazine did a little photoshopping.

I can't say for sure, but if you compare his cover portrait to other photos, you will notice his hair does appear a little thicker.

I've discussed Prince William's hair loss in the past on this site, at 32, he has advanced male pattern hair loss for his age - in fact, he's a Norwood Class III-vertex, progressing quickly toward IV and beyond. In my opinion, it would be best to start a multi-therapy approach immediately that combines finasteride (Propecia), minoxidil (Rogaine) and Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT). Non-invasive FDA-approved therapies can start reversing the miniaturization of the hair follicles immediately. Because hair growth rates are slow, the results will take 3-9 months to become appreciated. A microsurgical FUE hair transplant with NeoGraft (the "Cadillac of hair transplants") would also do wonders for him.

The good news is, if Prince William decides he likes the look of a fuller head of hair, there are many options available today to restore his lost follicles.

Recession Alert: David Beckham

David Beckham might be unmatched on the soccer field, but off the field, it appears he's fighting the same fight as millions of other men - a receding hairline!

In recent photos of the athlete, 36, you can see early signs of temporal recession, which isn't at all uncommon for a man his age. Thirty percent of men in their 30s experience hair loss and the number increases to 40 percent as men enter their 40s. From the photos, it appears that Beckham is Norwood Class II, which means that while his hairline is maturing, typical of an adult hairline, he has yet to see any frontal balding. He is also fortunate to have an otherwise full head of hair.

Considering his status on the Hollywood A-list, Beckham might want to consider a proactive hair regimen of FDA-approved Propecia or Rogaine, which could help him avoid any further recession. He would hardly be the first celebrity to take action against hair loss, more celebrities are investing in hair restoration than ever before. New technology and non-invasive procedures are selling points for many looking to enhance their looks discreetly. The NeoGraft FUE transplant has become a popular procedure among athletes as it avoids them having stitches in their donor area and calls for minimal recovery, usually three days, so it doesn't keep them out of the gym.

What is the Story With Joey Lawrence's Hairline?

Joey Lawrence's hairline has caused much speculation over the years. After years of sporting a bald head, it appears the 35-year old is ready to start growing his hair out. Despite those who say otherwise, Joey appears to have underwent a hair transplant. When you look at his hairline up close, you can see that it is sparse and "grafty," telling signs of a transplant. But he is fortunate that it doesn't appear "pluggy."

Another red flag is the frontal peak and straight lines of his hairline, which look unnatural. Hopefully he plans to remedy this later with micrografts that can fill in the hairline and help create a more natural looking appearance.

While his hairline is telling, the major giveaway is the lack of temporal points and the bizarre hair directions you can see in the frontal 1/4 inch that do not follow or match the hair behind. Grafts were placed perpendicularly to the skin and low density.

It appears that he, like many stars and athletes today, decided on a transplant using Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), the procedure is favored by many to the traditional strip harvesting. This less invasive approach means that no scalpels, sutures, or staples are used in the donor area and it leaves absolutely no linear scar, so short haircuts, like those worn by Lawrence are still possible.

John Travolta Bald Photos Leak

John Travolta has long dodged questions regarding his vanishing - then suddenly reappearing - hairline. Many, myself included, have noted his ever-changing, unnatural hairline as evidence that he is wearing a hair piece.

In a recent story by The Daily Mail, John, 57, is seen sans hair piece, revealing the full extent of his hair loss. Maybe Travolta is finally ready to embrace his baldness and age naturally? Doubtful. Although he's playing John Gotti in a new biopic by Barry Levinson, and will likely go bald to play the role, it's unlikely he'll stay bald. Considering his status as an A-list actor, and the lengths he has gone to in the past to conceal his hair loss, it's reasonable to assume he'll go back to the hair piece soon enough.
Now, the bigger question: Could Travolta regain his locks with treatment? He could regain some scalp coverage by undergoing a NeoGraft FUE transplant, combined with other therapies like Rogaine, Low Level Laser Therapy and Propecia. However, had Travolta not avoided hair restoration treatment for so long, and started on a regimen of Propecia and Rogaine earlier, he could have had a relatively full head of hair today.

Recession Alert: Christopher Meloni

Christopher Meloni is reportedly leaving Law & Order SVU, which means he might have a little downtime to deal with his hair loss.

The actor, 50, keeps his hair closely shaved - perhaps to hide his receding hairline and thinning hair. While that is one way to deal with hair loss, there are many other non-invasive treatment options available.

He might want to think about a preventative treatment, like FDA-approved Propecia or Rogaine, which could help him avoid any further recession. Low Level Laser Therapy could also be used to help grow fuller, healthier hair.

Meloni would hardly be the first actor to embrace these treatments, more celebrities are investing in hair restoration than ever before. New technology and non-invasive procedures like hair transplantation with NeoGraft FUE are selling points for many actors looking to enhance their looks discreetly.

Wayne Rooney Gets Hair Transplant

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney's rapidly receding hairline has been a sensitive subject for him in recent years. So it didn't come as much of a surprise when he decided to take action, in the form of a hair transplant.

Transplants like Rooney's, performed with NeoGraft FUE allows coverage of the scalp and the creation of a natural, living and growing hairline for every single patient.

NeoGraft FUE has made hair transplantation easier than ever and a viable option for many men and women.

The procedure is ideal for athletes as it avoids having stitches in their donor area and calls for minimal recovery, usually three days, so it wouldn't disrupt his golf game.

Today's technology means that hair loss is no longer inevitable...it's optional!

The 25-year-old footballer treated his followers to the first look at his new 'do. He tweeted: 'Just to confirm to all my followers I have had a hair transplant. I was going bald at 25 why not. I'm delighted with the result.'

Balding Prince William to Wed on Friday

The royal wedding is only days away and the world is buzzing over what Kate's dress will look like and what hat the queen will wear.

But what about Prince William? While his attire is less concerning, his hair loss, has garnered much attention throughout his engagement.

At 28, Prince William has advanced male pattern hair loss for his age - in fact, he's a Norwood Class III-vertex, progressing quickly toward IV and beyond.

While it is far too late to see any improvements in the wedding photos, if Prince William wants to work on future damage control, he should start a multi-therapy approach immediately that combines finasteride (Propecia), minoxidil (Rogaine) and Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT).

James Nesbitt: 'Hair Transplant Changed My Life'

During a recent interview, James Nesbitt described his hair transplant as having "changed" his life.

The actor underwent two operations in December at a Dublin clinic where they removed healthy hair follicles from the back of his head to the scalp.

Nesbitt is a great example of the power of hair transplantation to create a younger, thicker, fuller hairline. The post-surgical results are really dramatic for him. A full hairline is really important for "framing" the face and preventing the appearance of premature aging.

Speaking to The Mail On Sunday, Nesbitt credited the delicate operation with helping him survive in a profession where youth and good looks are highly sought after.

"It changed my life," he claimed.

NeoGraft FUE has made hair transplantation easier than ever and a viable option for many men and women.

Today's technology means that hair loss is no longer inevitable...it's optional!

Recession Alert - Michael Lohan

Is the stress of being Lindsey Lohan's dad causing Michael Lohan, 50, to lose his hair? Maybe, but considering that half of men in their 50s experience hair loss, it is probably just a coincidence.

From recent photos, you can see he has deep recession in the temporal region and thinning hair across the hairline, but all hope is not lost.

Were he to invest in regular Rogaine and Low Level Laser Therapy treatments, he could stimulate those thinning follicles into growing healthier, thicker hair.

A follicular-unit extraction hair transplant with NeoGraft would also do wonders.

John Travolta Debuts Balding Head

Speculation about his hairline has followed John Travolta for years. Many, myself included, have noted his ever-changing, unnatural hairline as evidence that he is wearing a weave or hair plugs.

But on a recent vacation with his family, John can be seen enjoying some rest and relaxation sans his hair piece, revealing a balding head.

No word yet on whether Travolta is going to embrace his baldness and age naturally - but considering his status as an A-list actor, I doubt it.

However, there are many options available, including the NeoGraft FUE hair transplant, if John wants to invest in a more natural look.

NeoGraft is a popular choice among actors, athletes and those looking for discreet treatment options. With the right planning and careful execution, the procedure can be completely clandestine, which is a huge advantage over previous transplant procedures.

Drew Carey - Hair Transplant

Funnyman Drew Carey is making headlines for his dramatic weight loss, but as you can see from the photo, that isn't the only thing that is different about the comedian - he is also benefiting from a hair transplant.

Given reports of Carey's impending return to television, it's probably safe to say he went for a follicular-unit extraction, or FUE, hair transplant surgery, to avoid any linear scarring. I call this the "Cadillac of hair transplants" - particularly when it's combined with the NeoGraft device.

This procedure is not only great for those in the spotlight that can't afford scarring but also for those looking to treat their hair loss discreetly.

Drew looks healthier and younger thanks to his recent transformation and hopefully more will follow his example.

Here are a few tips for keeping your hair transplant a secret:
1) minimally-invasive NeoGraft FUE - so there's no tell-tale linear scar
2) grow your hair to 1" in the donor area to hide a 'stealth-shave'
3) wear a hairstyle or hat for one week to cover the transplanted areas until the scabs flake off.
4) choose a surgeon and staff who can create an aesthetically-natural and undetectable hairline.
5) use healing treatments (like hyperbaric oxygen, low level laser therapy, protein sprays, Acell/Matristem, copper-peptide solutions, etc.) to accelerate the body's recovery.

Recession Alert - Pete Sampras

Retired tennis great Pete Sampras was a true contender on the court, but today, he is losing the battle with his receding hairline.

From recent photos, you can see Pete has deep recession in the temporal region and thinning hair across the hairline, but he still has hope.

Were he to invest in regular Rogaine and Low Level Laser Therapy treatments, he might be able to stimulate those dwindling follicles into growing better, thicker hair.

A follicular-unit extraction hair transplant with NeoGraft would also do wonders.
New technology and non-invasive procedures are selling points for many athletes looking to enhance their looks discreetly without taking time away from the game. Athletes are able to resume workouts within three days after a NeoGraft transplant.

For those interested in tennis, check out the Delray Beach International Tennis Championships, Feb. 18 - 27.

What is Hiding Under Hugh Laurie's Hairpiece?

A recent photo of Hugh Laurie, 51, shows the actor looking quite different from his gruff television persona, Dr. House.

As you can see, he has a great team of makeup artists that help transform him into character every week. While he has elected to hide his bald spot and graying hair with a hairpiece during filming, off camera he is fighting the same battle as half the men his age.

But there is hope for the many who are fighting hair loss - and it doesn't require a hairpiece and makeup team. From FDA-approved treatments like Rogaine or Propecia to Low Level Laser Therapy, men and women are able to stimulate growth and prevent future hair loss.

However, for those looking for a permanent solution to their hair loss, non-invasive NeoGraft FUE is still the best option available.

Time for Jon Cryer to Address Hair Loss?

With Two and a Half Men on a temporary hiatus, Jon Cryer might want to think about using the time off to address his thinning hair.

The actor, 45, is experiencing thinning across his hairline and some recession in the temporal region. While he could benefit from a regular regimen of Rogaine, Low Level Laser Therapy would help him strengthen and regrow his thinning hair.

But if Jon really wants to make the most of his unexpected time off, he might want to consider a follicular-unit extraction hair transplant with NeoGraft. The non-invasive procedure is common among actors as it leaves no linear scarring and there is little downtime after the procedure.

Kelsey Grammer's Thinning Hair

Kelsey Grammer is in the midst of a bitter divorce and planning a wedding - no wonder this guy is losing his hair!

Grammer has deep recession across his hair line, but all hope it not lost. The thin strands of hair across the recession area suggest that with proper treatment, he might be able to stimulate some growth.

If he were my patient, I'd start him on Rogaine and Low Level Laser Therapy treatments immediately, which could help turn his wispy strands into thicker, healthier hair.

But if he really wants to start his new life with a new look, I'd recommend a hair transplant using NeoGraft FUE.

Gavin Rossdale Rocks Receding Hairline

Rocker Gavin Rossdale is known for his trendy style and is usually seen around town wearing the latest fashions. But his newest accessory, a receding hairline, isn't what most would consider fashionable.

From recent photos, when he pulls his hair back, it looks like Gavin, 45, is a Norwood Class III, due to the considerable recession in the corner areas. The Class III pattern can be a sign of early balding, and in some cases, worthy of a transplant.

I would suggest a preventative treatment like Propecia to stop further recession. But for optimal results, Gavin may want to consider a NeoGraft FUE transplant. The FUE is a popular choice among those in the entertainment industry as there is no scarring and no stitches.

Tiger Woods Rebuilding Game and Image

Tiger Woods' top priority is his golf game - and rightfully so - but the star is also hoping to make a personal comeback in 2011. The golf pro, 35, is no doubt coming off a stressful year and it shows in his hair.

Like many men his age, Tiger is seeing deep recession is the temporal region as well as a growing bald spot.

Tiger might want to consider a minimally invasive hair transplant with NeoGraft FUE. The procedure is ideal for athletes as it avoids having stitches in their donor area and calls for minimal recovery, usually three days, so it wouldn't disrupt his golf game.

While it might take a while for Tiger to fully get his swing back, a new 'do' might be just what he needs to help rebuild his confidence off the green.

The Year In Hair - 4 Key Developments

Now that 2010 is almost at an end, it's worth looking back at the "Year In Hair." After all, several important new tests and treatments became available this year.

Here are my picks:

#1:  NeoGraft FUE. The revolutionary NeoGraft™ hair transplant device allows surgeons to efficiently harvest follicles individually from the back of the scalp, leaving no linear scar.

#2:  LaserCap™. First device to deliver ‘clinical-grade’ low level laser therapy in a convenient, at-home device.

#3:  HairCheck™. Scientifically-proven way to measure Hair Mass Index (HairNumber™), an indicator of how much hair is growing from a given area of scalp for comparison over time. Also accurately measures hair-breakage, a common cause of hair loss in women.

#4:  Finasteride Test for Women. The first finasteride response test became available for women, which uses genetics to determine how well female hair loss sufferers will respond to Propecia treatments.

Joel McHale - Hair Transplant

The E! network's witty Joel McHale is great at dishing up the latest celebrity news and rumors - but he's also good at something else:  regrowing hair.

After sorting through a number of photos of Joel - both now and in the past - it's clear to me that the comedian has had hair transplantation to fill out his 'do.' I think he looks good. As I'm not aware of any linear scarring at the back of his head (unlike the unfortunate Jeremy Piven), it's probably safe to say he went for a follicular-unit extraction, or FUE, hair transplant surgery. I call this the "Cadillac of hair transplants" - particularly when it's combined with the NeoGraft device.

Joel's fuller hairline looks great, and makes him look years younger. (See the older picture below if you don't believe me.)

I wish more male stars would follow in his path.

Sal Alosi Faces Suspension and Hair Loss

NY Jets coach Sal Alosi has been suspended for the remainder of the season after he was caught tripping a Miami Dolphins player during Sunday's game. Yesterday, during his public apology, it became apparent that in addition to heavy media scrutiny for his behavior, Sal is also facing hair loss.

From the photos you can see he is suffering from deep temporal recession, which he has attempted to "hide" by shaving his head. Considering he spends most of his time in a hat on the sidelines, this no-fuss style probably suits him.

But now that he is going to be spending some time off the field, he might want to consider other alternatives. For example, a regimen of Propecia and Rogaine could help keep what hair he has, while Low Level Laser Therapy could help improve the quality and thickness of his other hair follicles.

However, if Sal really wants to make the most of his time off, he may want to look into a minimally invasive FUE transplant with NeoGraft.
