Recession Alert - Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio was a big winner last night at the Golden Globes, but it seems the actor isn't winning the battle against his receding hairline!

DiCaprio, 39, has had signs of recession for years, specifically in the temporal region. But DiCaprio is lucky, while his hairline is maturing, typical of an adult hairline, he has yet to see any frontal balding. He is also fortunate to have an otherwise full head of hair.

Hair loss is not uncommon for men in their 30s - in fact, the percent risk of hair loss is proportional to your age: i.e., 20% in 20s, 30% in 30s, 40% in 40s and so forth. It's important to get tested early on to see if you're at risk for male pattern hair loss. Genetic tests like HairDX are available at your local hair
restoration specialist.

Science has proven if you wait until the hair loss is visible to the naked eye, you're too late - you've already lost 50 percent. In DiCaprio's case, it would be wise to consult a hair restoration specialist now and consider starting on preventative treatments to ensure he slows down any further recession and keeps the hair that he has strong and healthy.

Recession Alert: Joseph Gordon-Levitt

Lincoln star Joseph Gordon-Levitt looked regal as he walked the red carpet at the Oscars this weekend, but even the tux couldn't distract us from noticing his receding hairline.

As you can see in the photo, Joseph, 32, is seeing recession in the temporal region. In other words, his hairline is maturing, typical of an adult hairline, but fortunately for the young actor, he has yet to see any frontal balding. He is also fortunate to have an otherwise full head of hair.

While 32 might seem early for hair loss, in reality, 30 percent of men in their 30s experience some degree of hair loss, with the risk jumping to 40 percent for men in their 40s. Were he to invest in regular Rogaine and Low Level Laser Therapy treatments now, he could prevent further recession while at the same time stimulating growth.

Recession Alert: Lance Armstrong

After losing millions in endorsements, not to mention the adoration of his fans, it appears Lance Armstrong has another problem - a receding hairline.

As you can see from photos, Lance, 41, has deep recession in the temporal region, which isn't at all uncommon for a man his age. In fact, 40 percent of all men experience some hair loss in their 40s.

But since he is likely going to be spending more time in the spotlight as he continues to answer questions regarding his drug scandal,  he may want to consider some preventative options. FDA-approved Rogaine or Propecia could help stop further recession, while a regimen of Low Level Laser Therapy could stimulate healthy hair growth.

Lance would hardly be the first athlete/celebrity to embrace these treatments, more celebrities are investing in hair restoration than ever before. New technology and non-invasive procedures are selling points for many actors looking to enhance their looks discreetly.

LeBron James' Hairline Woes

LeBron James' receding hairline has been the punchline of many jokes and is often the topic of media speculation, but it appears the basketball star might be planning to put an end to all that.

In a recent Twitter post, LeBron suggested his hairline might be coming back soon. While the 26-year old athlete might be using humor to address the situation, if he is serious about wanting to reverse the damage, there are options available that can help.

LeBron's best bet is a minimally invasive hair transplant with NeoGraft FUE. The NeoGraft FUE procedure allows athletes like LeBron to avoid having stitches in their donor area, therefore, allowing him to return to training and workouts in as little as three days. Another bonus, NeoGraft leaves no 'tell-tale' linear scar, so very short haircuts are possible later on.

He would hardly be the first public figure to take action against hair loss, more celebrities and athletes are investing in hair restoration than ever before. New technology and non-invasive procedures are selling points for those looking to enhance their looks discreetly. With the NBA currently stuck in a lockout, now may be the perfect time for LeBron to seek the help of a board-certified hair restoration physician.

Many people are surprised to learn that hair transplantation works equally well for ethnic patients and especially those of African descent.  Before and After photos of Dr. Alan Bauman's ethnic hair transplant patients are available.
